Dryers play a crucial role in your compressed air system, especially during the summer. Compressed air dryers remove vapor moisture in compressed which would condense further down the line and impact your processes with liquid water.

Check your dryers to make sure they are working properly to handle the hot, humid days coming!

Refrigerated Compressed Air Dryers

  • Make sure the power is on and the dryer is turned on.
  • Check the temperature of compressed air. It should be significantly cooler coming out of dryer.
  • If equipped with a suction pressure gauge, there should be a “Green” area for the needle to be in. If outside of the green area, your dryer needs to be serviced.

Regenerative / Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers

  • Make sure the power is on and the dryer is turned on
  • Check the dewpoint reading. It should be below – 40°F
  • If temperature is higher, make sure your dryer is switching towers back and forth every 5-10 minutes.
  • The filter housing leaving the dryer (outlet) will have a manual drain on it, open it slowly to ensure there is no moisture present.
